Xmas Eve 2006

Ah, Christmas, the season to be jolly and giving.

Went to watch The Holiday with Sheena at Lido, and yet again we ended up in Lido 7. While getting our popcorn, Sheena asked for extra butter on the salted popcorn. The person then added a few squirts too much butter and butter was leaking through the popcorn box as we walk into the cinema. This made eating popcorn rather disgusting and I was suppose to enjoy it since I hadnt had popcorn for like more than a year?? =/

Its a pretty interesting love story abt 2 women (Amanda -Cameron Diaz, Lisa - Kate Winslet) living worlds apart (one in LA the latter in England) who both had relationship problems and wanted to take a break over the christmas holiday and somehow stumbled onto a home exchange program and exchanged house for 2 weeks. And something amazing happened to them in their fortnight holiday. But most importantly, I love Cameron Diaz. Haha.

Since we didnt had lunch, we decided to grab some snack at the Tangs, and we got a sugar roll and had those Shilin "Ji Pa". Then it was off to CityHall, somehow I managed to turn at the Marina exit at CitiLink Mall for no apparent reason and we entered marina. Didnt do much there but we saw a Dian Xin shop "Pao Jin Tian" It sounded awfully like Justice Bao, but its actually Pau Today. We had some Chee Cheong Fun and some black Sesame Pau. Its pretty yummy and their chinese tea is served in a bowl! But as we waited for our order to come, we realised it was 5pm. Our table for my dinner treat by Na was booked at 6.30pm.

After snacking, we went to Suntec and walked abit, finally at about 6.15pm went to Surf & Turf for dinner. Its the first time I ate there, the food wasnt too bad, just that I didnt like their christmas menu and luckily they didnt restrict you to just the Christmas Menu. I ordered a Medium-welldone Sirlion with crayfish while Sheena ordered a Grilled Chicken with Crayfish, their mushroom soup is quite impressive and the price of the whole meal was quite reasonable as well. But something I noticed, as we called for the bill, the first time the waitress came, she showed me the bill while I kindly pointed out that Sheena is footing the bill and she said, "Oh.". Ok, next when the bill came with her card and receipt for her to sign, this time the waiter gave me the bill again, and yet again, I pointed out its Na's. So are they stereotyping that whenever a guy and a girl goes out for a meal, the guy must be the one footing the bill? So much for gender equality.

So we headed for Millenia walk and boy was it quiet, apart from the outback steak house, the whole place is damn quiet. Na bought me a Dip Stick Snack from candy empire there and we found a shop selling Madrid Birkenstock at $69. So after a difficult and hard battle with herself, and much saliva wasted on my part, she was convinced to buy it. But that led to another problem. A 45min innerself battle was once again fought by Sheena on deciding whether to buy a bronze or orange one. Though she very much wanted the orange one, but she scared it would get dirty, so she got the bronze one in the end. =/

But nevermind that, after that we went to Pacific Cafe and had one of our best coffeeing sessions in these 45 months of togetherness. It was long and nice, just not what we do normally, So after a 2hr plus coffeeing session we wanted to go see fireworks, so we headed for esplanade.
As the time drew nearer, the crowd gathered. It was 12mn, then it was 12.05am. NO fireworks, so I guess everyone there was just hoping there was fireworks and people just love to follow blindly, including myself. Haha. That was such a waste of time. But luckily there is an extension of train hours tonight.

Overall I kind of enjoyed myself today. Thanks Dear. But the Festive Mood just isnt there, there isnt much people in town as well. Maybe everyone flocked to Vivocity? I dont know but, It sure didnt feel like town this Christmas.

Love ya dear.

Merry Christmas to all!
