grump

Today started off bad.

Slept late, woke up early.
Woke up earlier than usual because I'm supposed to reach office earlier.
Left home 15mins earlier.
But got on a bus later than my usual one. (when i don't come out 15mins earlier.)
Got on a later train. (its a 9 min interval anyway.)
Reached office later than ever before.

I wonder why.

Pretty hot weather. Nice day to be swimming or at the beach.

Went to army market after work to get velcros and to make my ID tag. The place is still the same. I just remembered I didnt buy ziploc bags.

Took a bus back from Lavender, it has been awhile since I took a long distance bus alone. So much more to see than compared to taking the MRT.

Met up with the EA ppl yesterday, for dinner at Nyny. As what Jeremy said, it's the company that matters. Because foodwise, I still had a bad experience at NyNy. Had a couple of lil' jokes going on yesterday, but they aren't appropriate to be posted haha.

Went to the Harry's at Chimes. It's the first time we went chilling out together. Not a bad experience I guess. Haha.

Fit....ness

My fitness level is dropping down the pit.

Just did a mini circuit training in my room consisting of about 8 static stations. And I'm damn out of breath. Shit. I've further discovered the disparity in strength of my upper and lower abs. I think I need to do 5 leg raises for every 1 crunch to make up for the disparity.

Watched 20mins of the Cantonese version of Healing Hands 3 on tudou.com just now. I really think it is a rather effective way to learn canto! I shall keep up on my canto learning. And I need to brush up on my teochew as well.

Work is getting less and less fulfilling. All else is bad, albeit the fun, jokes and companionship.

More gantries and increase in rates?

"...Five new ERP gantries along the Singapore River will also be activated on July 7. Traffic in the CBD is slowing down, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

So in January, as part of its Master Plan, the LTA came up with a new way to measure speed. It is called the 85th percentile method - this is when motorists experience smooth traffic at least 85 percent of the time on roads that have ERP gantries.

Another new LTA initiative is for bigger ERP rate increases because, LTA said, motorists are less sensitive to the existing rate structure.

In addition, ERP operating hours in the CBD will be extended by one hour on weekdays - from 7pm to 8pm - while gantries in the Orchard Road cordon will start an hour earlier on Saturdays, at 11am..... "

Retrieved on 18 June 2008, 1853hrs from, http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/354705/1/.html

I've been whining quite a bit with regard to the above mentioned issue. Yes, I reckon that the measures taken will no doubt reduce the amount of traffic in CBD in the short run. But is this Master Plan just about increasing the amount of gantries and raising the ERP rates? I seriously hope not.

Surely this isn't the best way to tackle the problem in the long run. Although I would foresee the total number of ERP gantries surpassing the 100 mark soon. I'm not even trying to address this issue using economics. If people are not very sensitive about the current rates, sooner or later, they will be accustomed to the "already raised a million times rate". Don't tell me it will soon cost $25 to enter a gantry? And maybe by then, only CEOs can afford to drive into the CBD.

Granted that the LTA is trying its best to improve on the public transport system, but the public transport system can never replace the ownership of a car. I for one, would definitely buy a car once I'm financially stable. It's not the prestige, but the convenience and the ability to take control of the situation, instead of waiting for 30mins and there is still no bus, or wait 10mins for a train to not be able to board it and have to wait for another 5 trains.

I have no solutions to the above problem, so I shall not grumble too much. But I certainly hope the Master Plan would really be masterly enough to not become a slave of its own executions. Although I think it will really be a big challenge.

Modesto & SG Flyer

After a positive recommendation by QY, I brought Na to Modesto for dinner. Went to the one at Orchard Parade Hotel. The deco was quite nice and it had a rather nice ambience.

Food was not too bad as well. Apart from the large serving. Haha. Nearly got stuffed to death.

Went onboard the Singapore Flyer after that.

Its quite inaccessible to go on foot and public transport. Should drive there.

I guess the view in the day would be more spectacular because you can definitely see further. Night time, you can only see places that are litted. =/

Cantonese

I've always wanted to learn Cantonese because I think it is a pretty cool dialect.
But want is one thing, executing is another. After a long time of nonchalant, I've finally made the first step.

Behold-->

Waha. I shall start watching hk serials too.

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Been watching movies quite frequently it seems. Watched Kung Fu Panda last sat and Indiana Jones yesterday. Both were with Aaron and Weequan, except that Ben was with us for Panda.

Was quite pissed off with the public transport system yet again yesterday. Waited for 35mins for my stupid bus. And during the wait, at least 20 buses came and left. Oh well.

I love spending money. =/

Its actually quite exciting. Waha. Sadly, I cannot keep doing this without anything coming in!!

500th post.

I just wanted to blog la.

Seriously, I'm starting to be a bit confused over what is going on with life. In particularly, academic and career. Yes, I love Economics. (To a certain extent.) But, it may not be what I really want after all. But I will still pursue it to the end, with the best of my abilities.

Okay, I recalled hearing this from the radio when one listener called up to talk to the DJ. In her opinion, colleagues will always be colleagues and may never cross the line to become friends.

Is it really this way? I don't really agree with this listener, but I know she has her points. And I can understand why she put it that way. But I just feel that if 2 individuals are truly genuine to each other, they can not just cross the line, but eventually become really close friends.

This is the tricky part, it is difficult to find truly genuine people in the work place nowadays. People are often rather defensive and protective of themselves. They hardly reveal their true selves to others. And some are often on the look out for opportunities to stab others in their back and step on their corpses to propel themselves higher.

No matter how subtle it is, it can be noticed. I see it alot, maybe because I'm looking on, with a 3rd person perspective.

Last week has been rather hectic, the meet ups and events. Finally a little bit of breathing space.
I'm glad Jo is liking her job so far. Really happy for her. =)

My work so far has been rather relaxing, which is a good thing. I'm looking forward to it for all the wrong reasons. Haha.

S'pore will wait to see what new evidence M'sia can produce over Pedra Branca

SINGAPORE : Singapore Law Minister K Shanmugam said Singapore will wait and see if the Malaysian government can come up with any new evidence to renew Malaysia's claim on Pedra Branca.

The International Court of Justice awarded Singapore sovereignty over the island on May 23, ending a nearly three-decade long territorial dispute between the two countries. Decisions by the Court are final and cannot be appealed.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Rais Yatim has been quoted in newspaper reports saying that Malaysia has renewed its search for evidence to stake its claim on Pedra Branca, or what Malaysians call Pulau Batu Puteh.

"I'm not quite sure what the legal basis of such suggestions are. My own view is that the international court has ruled, and both countries have said that they accept the ruling... As to what this new evidence is, we'll wait and see," said the Singapore law minister. - CNA /ls

I though both sides mentioned they will accept the international court's ruling? What's with this thing?

First Aid.

Hey people, anyone interested in attending First aid courses?

I'm quite interested in learning basic first aid or basic CPR.

Chopper pool?

In the next 10 years, I foresee a mammoth rise in the number of ERP gantries, hike in ERP charges and an increase in the number of full day bus lanes.

I think I've made up my mind about not buying a car.

I'll need a helicopter, if not a private jet. I reckon a chopper is easier, because I can land easily. Without the need for a runway(or even a large piece of flat land), which coincidentally happens to be in short supply, especially since we are expecting another 2million residents into Singapore, making our total population 6.5M.

Anyone wants to chopper/jet pool? =)
What a high scoring match.

Secondhand Serenade - Fall for You

The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting
Could it be that we have been this way before
I know you don't think that I am trying
I know you're wearing thin down to the core

But hold your breathe
Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I wont live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
Your impossible to find

This is not what I intended
I always swore to you I'd never fall apart
You always thought that I was stronger
I may have failed
But I have loved you from the start
Ohhhh

But hold your breathe
Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I wont live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
It's impossible

So breathe in so deep
Breathe me in
I'm yours to keep
And hold onto your words
Cause talk is cheap
And remember me tonight
When you're asleep

Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I wont live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
Tonight will be the night that I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I wont live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
Your impossible to find

Gotta catch them all!

Met up with WQ today. He became Captain for his team liao woah. Haha grats.

Been awhile since we met, and definitely a long time since we last went out together. As usual, we went on about our aimless walks in the shopping malls. Haha. It never changes.

Damn jealous of his internship pay though. =/

We caught pikachu and his friends at marina!

Conditioned?

In the past, I always wondered why I cannot actively recall where which alphabet is on the keyboard, but I can easily type without looking down at the keyboard.

Is this the power of the implicit memory? Just like how you will know how to cycle, once you learnt it?

Even with 3 sems down, I still cannot be certain this is the path I want to go down in the future. It is definitely one of the better choices, in terms of studies. But with regard to career, I'm still unsure. This post has a no relation to my results, in case you all are wondering if it is due to my under expectation grades.

I need more action I suppose. Even though I may not look like it. I can foresee the job of an Economist, Investment banker, etc... Can be pretty desk bound, a tad boring and mundane.

The most precious ability of Homo Sapiens, is to be able to think.
To perceive stimuli, process them, modify them and to apply them. But it is also this very ability to process that gives us a weakness - thinking too much. I'm starting to think too much, over every damn thing.

Cogito, ergo sum? But does this hold? So if I don't think, I cease to exist?

I don't look forward to becoming one of many socially engineered Singaporean. That was one reason why I made the daring decision to swap course.

I need a breakthrough, and I need to pursue something I love, which isn't well defined yet.

Messy thoughts. Not a pretty sight. I'm losing my organisation. I need to zone out for a bit.

Results

Never have I seen so many modules having the same grade.
I've 4 mods having the same grade. (Sadly, it doesn't belong to the Jiam Tao [pointed head] family)

My most not confident paper, became my best in the end. How ironic. And the paper that I thought would be my A+ of the sem, dropped a whole category to B+.

Even though I didn't do quite as good. I'm quite happy my not so good modules were quite well done. A reasonably respectable result slip I have to say.

But I must admit I was complacent, I shall relook into my study plan.

CAP dropped a bit, and I'm still quite safe in that class.

Results

Results tmr! 3pm for most of my friends, while 6pm for myself.

I think I cannot sleep tonight. =/

Anticipating, reluctant and a little unsure. Worried!!!

But anyway, good luck to all!
Being attached to finance dept is boring. Numbers and more numbers.

Nearly fell asleep. But at least numbers are something familiar to me la.

It's only until today that I realised that the finance people are actually quite nice too. I guess I was judging them too early.

My apologies.

Sometimes I look forward to work.
I admit I don't find the work interesting per se, but it is the company that makes me enjoy the work. =)

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Something funny happened at work today. Haha. I shall not say it here.

Been typing ALOT, my typing has definitely improved, at least by a bit.

Met the Touche guys in the evening. Nice bunch of people.

Dreading 30 June. Don't like.

Concerts anyone?

Anyone wants to go either of the concerts?

Angela Chang - 张韶涵's concert? 1 June 8pm.

Gary Cao Ge - 曹格's concert? 12 July 8pm.
It's actually quite shiok to turn up the subwoofer to the max and blast music at home while singing out loud.

Went down town to do some shopping. Quite tempted to buy shirts from Zara since there are quite a lot on sale, but I reckon have too many shirts.

Bought a pair of casual leather shoes from my new favourite shoe shop. Not very expensive and it makes it even more attractive since I redeemed a $20 voucher from UOB rewards. (I love their paper bag too.)

Papering was quite nice too. Although it's never really an interest of mine to make cards and scrapbooks. The positive influence from the dear has been phenomenal. Haha. I just need more of the creative touch.

I still want to sing K.

Emo Nemo

I forgot where I'd seen the "emo nemo" thingy, but I think it's quite catchy. Haha

Ya anyway, I'm feeling damn emo.

There are so many reasons that I could think of that is causing this emotional upheaval in me.

Perhaps it's because results are going to be released in 6 days time and I just have this feeling that I'll screw up. Furthermore, I know I could have put in more effort into it.

Perhaps it is due to work? After interning for 3 weeks, I've found out that I really detest desk-bound jobs. As what Na said, it could be the environment that make me feel that way. That I can't tell, I haven't been in any job that is desk-bound and fast paced. It's all the site/estate visits/inspections that makes me excited.

Maybe it isn't so simple. Maybe it just isn't such a micro view but rather a macro view of my life. My accomplishments thus far. Even though I'm into my 3rd year after hitting 20, I still feel kiddish. I'm an adult by legislation but still an emerging adult by theory. My mental maturity way surpass many of my peers, but thinking and talking shows nothing. I need to walk the walk, rather than just talk the talk.

On hindsight, I think it could also be due to my social life. Maybe I'm not sufficiently satisfied with my social life at the moment. After all, man is a social creature. Although we got the island, no man is an island.

I used to think I understood myself. But now, I don't know.

I have a secret. It's not a secret to some.
I've let the cat out a few times, perhaps I should let it be free?

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions of iphone and itouch. Think it is quite off my budget at the moment. But whatever the case, I'll let my results decide on the commodity to purchase or maybe even not buy any of them.

dilemma

Should I buy a PSP or an Ipod?

Since my Zen micro is dying.
Glory glory Manchester United!

Certain things aren't what they seem. But over these couple of days, I've enjoyed work so much more than the 1st 2 weeks. No doubt it is the company that matters most.

However, one thing really pissed me off. If you want me to help you with your work, at least have the courtesy to ask me personally. At the very least, give me a call.
Whatever. I think my junior senior should understand what I mean if she ever reads this. Haha.

I've taken out the bg pic.
Because it looks weird on different resolutions. Haha.

Till I can make a nicer version.

By taking out the knob and installing a new knob, I've learnt the easy way of dismantling a door knob. It is damn easy. =/
Its almost 2am. I'm going to wake up at 0530.

Just went on a mission break my dad's room door, because he was trapped inside as the knob was faulty.

Tools involved, hammer (which was half broken before the door broke.) screwdrivers and pliers and a raging bull such as myself.

This is a time when you wished you had bought the electric drill that you saw so many times and I think I need to acquire a hammer and chisel in my personal toolbox. Maybe a saw would be good too.

Anyway, Na and I saw a convertible drove past us and its bonnet suddenly flung open. What a rare sight. I think something inside broke too. Luckily there wasn't any vehicle in front or behind the car.

Vegas

What happens in Vegas is quite a nice show.

Romantically funny.

I'm a purple monster.
ROAR!
I wanted to blog about something.

But I forgot.

Anyway, meeting today was quite okay. Settled most of the stuff.
First time the whole team was around! =) And we had the honour of Ben joining us.
Okay la, not very honorable also la. He is our sai gang warrior. Quite poor thing la, President of the Society and yet being bullied to do stuff for us. Haha

Found out that KM have something going on with Gwen. haha. So coincidental.

YF is damn nice to talk to actually. lol.
Sorry bro, I only realised it yesterday and confirmed about it today.
Yeah I totally agree that optimism is king.

I think I can be a part time webmaster if most of the code is done and all I have to do is modify and edit. Haha

Parma relegated.
Milan no Champs League spot.
Hmm. Something I won't normally expect.

Calamities in Si Chuan and Myanmar are taking too many lives. Isn't it time for it to stop yet? Kudos to all the rescue workers out there and all those people giving aid to them.

Are these signs for something more devastating that has yet to come? I don't know.

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Seriously.

I think we need to really do something abt the ed. sys. Our younger generation are being too spoon fed. It will get to a point whereby, things have to be IVed into their bloodstream instead of feeding them with the spoon.

Arts Open was tiring. Talking to people makes me thirsty easily. After talking to 1 grp of people, I have to drink 1 cup of water. I drank more than 10 cups today. Some things about the ppl coming in turns me off. I shall not say out specifically.

Minggu Kedua (2nd wk)

Another week gone.

Time flies. It seems like yesterday that I just started my internship at JRTC.
But it is already 2 weeks.

I'm really quite tired after all the waking up at 0530. But I guess I'm getting used to this bit by bit. Been attending On the Job Trainings (OJT) with the other new perm staff. Didn't really pay attention to most of the things la.

Didn't have much substantial stuff to do actually. So I just help out here and there.

Getting along quite well with my colleagues. At the very least I have been lunching alone less. =)
Just got jio-ed to join them for 'special lunches' here and there. =D

Just got psychoed to join YP, the branch near my workplace. I'll be going to check/help out their MPS next next monday.

Early today, went out with Satwant to check on the ongoing projects' progress. Went to check whether the specs of the covered linkways/walkways and whether the BFA are in accordances to the regulations.

In the afternoon, went down to a fire scene today with Minhat and Winnie. Although I didn't do anything besides talking to one resident, the CD and Police Officers and my 2 colleagues. They're really nice people too, and Minhat is damn funny. Haha.

At least it wasn't the same old issuing of work orders and the checking of arrears for Theva and Ghazali, which is damn boring. However, it is still better to do those stuff then to be zobolaning la.

It is good to know a little bahasa indonesia because they use malay quite often, so I can pick out a few words here and there.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Somehow, I feel that Singapore's Education system needs to be slightly revamped.

It doesn't teaches stress management. Creating a lot of Kan Cheong Bananas or my more familar phrase, Kan Cheong Spiders.

Don't ask me how. This is just a suggestion. Too much emphasis on practicality.

Chop chop ka li pok doesn't work all the time.

Really dont know what to say.

Jack asked about it. He said it seemed pretty serious.

I don't know about that. But he understands what I meant.

But I thought I understood how I felt. But now, it is starting to elude me. I don't even know what is real. I said something +ve to him that day, but now I'm not sure how +ve those +ve things are actually. Or whether it is +ve in the first place.

Apparently there is no difference whether I exist or not.

Sometimes I really wonder why I even bother saying anything.
Because nothing gets registered.

It has reached a point I'm no longer disappointed.

I'm disgusted.

Anyway, Jack has left for the States for his Work and Play in US Prog. Thanks for the concern buddy.

I hope you'll take good care of yourself and come back safely. I'm sure the gang won't mind loads of presents. Haha. Enjoy yourself and I hope you'll gain something worthwhile from this trip! =)

Seeya in 3 months!

*Edit
13 May 08, 00:19
na: I ALSO DUN MIND THE PRESENTS! =p*

Lost postage?

I always have this suspicions of "XXX will not be held responsible for any Items Lost During Normal Postage delivery."

What are the chances of losing your mail in SINGAPORE? SingPost is quite efficient one lea.

I'm not saying online shops out there are cheating people, but it is possible to have some dishonest people.

So to be safe, opt for registered mail.

But so far, I've tried both la.

Pai Lang Bin

My colleague, Raymond said this to me last week.

Li wu pai lang bin, zo zheng hu gang jin jia ho. Au bai lao tam po chui qiu ko ka sat ki.

Translated to, "You have a bad guy face, you'll make a good civil servant. You'll look more fierce with a bit of moustache."

Haha.

Sunday, May 11, 2008

To QY: Wah lau. You flooding my tagboard la. Haha. Eh, true I agree you have to pay good to get your Kaka, else you'll end up with a Kuku. They should know that really talented people wouldn't settle for such peanuts. Thats why they have to squeeze you now to make their 'investment' worthwhile. I'm sure they know many would zao after the bond or even buy out the bond la. But as long as they can psycho a few to stay on beyond or have a constant supply of 'I will leave after 4 years talent', I think they can still survive la.

I tried

I really tried to connect with you all.
But I feel more like a tool then anything else.

Maybe it isn't the best option I made. But I'm a patient man.
I'll just slowly fade out when the time is appropriate.

But I won't walk out now.

Friday, May 09, 2008

Some things are a little disappointing.

Maybe I'm a disappointment and a let down too.

I really need to catch up on sleep. Haven't felt so shagged in months even though my job isn't tough. The boredom is catching up on me.

Their tempo is too slow. Hopefully next week would be better. I don't want to be a temp admin assistant.

Thursday, May 08, 2008

Work is getting a bit more interesting because I'm having slightly more things to do.
I've gaining more insight towards their operation. Getting along quite well with some of the colleagues. However, some are just too difficult to approach and they have this "you owe me 10 billion USD face".

On course tmr. I wonder how it would be like.

Met up with Shaun, Jeremy, Javin, Felicia, Clarice, Wen Ling, Meihui and Shulin today for dinner at Timbre today. The ambience and food wasn't bad. However, I just don't like the way they try means and ways to "pressure" you to leave. I'll give 2/5 stars for service. And perhaps 4.5/5 for food and ambience.

Will probably go there later next time to see the live band.

Monday, May 05, 2008

tired

Not because of a busy day. But because I couldn't sleep last night.

It seems that I'll be embarking on a very all-rounded programme for this internship. Being attached to various departments to get a holistic view of its operation and apart from that, I'm tasked with a project that I have no official details on yet.

Will be going down to site visit tmr. Woo! Something different and less mundane.

Lets hope I wont be feeling so shag every night, because I still want to run and write essay plus conplete forms. =/

Sunday, May 04, 2008

Filing up of forms

I'm embarking on a spree of filling up forms. (Essays too)

These forms could bring me to another level never once ventured to before.
Despite the vast amount of challenges that I would have to face, it is paramount that I fill them up.

Haha. Don't bother about me. I'm being out of point here with myself.

Anyway dear, I'm really proud of you. Go for it! =)

One of our favourite hang out.

Me donning me specs.

Please come back because I feel disabled. =/

The alternatives aren't even half as useful.

Bah, even sbstransit's maps are gone. wtf

自由

I'm free. But not free.

Psych was a bother. Quite disappointing considering I forgot a lot of the things that I'd studied. Maybe they were not encoded deep enough.

With the midterm results that I had attained for most of my modules, I was actually quite confident of doing well this sem, but now the bubble seem to have burst. Maybe complacency set in or maybe I wasn't hardworking enough for this sem. All in all, it has concluded, nothing I do now matters. So let it be, and I shall work on it next sem.

Embarking on my internship on monday. Wish me luck, since I have no idea what I will be doing until the very day.

Ps. I got present! =)

Self Efficacy.

I need more Self Efficacy for Psych.

Will having Self efficacy lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy?
I seriously don't mind =p

Inspired by Jack's Textbook, I've done another similar test on how Self-Monitoring I am.

I'm 46/100 censoring! Click to see my self-monitoring personality.

The questions are rather similar if not identical to the book.

Friday, May 02, 2008

Blah, shut up Grant.

Grant:
'Look, I'm not doubting the integrity of West Ham,' said Grant. 'I don't have a reason to doubt the integrity of Alan Curbishley.
'But I think it's wrong to say things like this because he's involved in the games against United. West Ham won against them in the last three games.
'I don't think it's a good idea to say things like this. I cannot be angry. I will not be angry.

It really doesn't bother me much even if it angers you. Besides, you are the one 'suggesting' something will 'happen'. West Ham has always been a jinx to Man U and I'm sure Curbishley is a person of integrity. Stop you ever so obvious mind games. It is so obvious it is getting disgusting.

And you inherited a multi million (or is it billion?) squad assembled by Jose Mourinho, so shhhhhhhh.

If Chelsea wins the league, good for you. If not, good for Man U.
Reading Psych especially on Abnormal Psych is rather disturbing sometimes.

Hair cuts are nice.
Especially those that are accompanied by hair wash and head massage.

And of course, during such crazy weather.

Went tuition just now, my tutee said, "You study for your exams la, I don't know anything then I ask you."

He is quite cute albeit a little mischievous.
And he goes on and on and on about MapleSEA, GetAMPED, Runescape, Audition and etc.

My printer is ALIVE.

It is creepy and eerie when your printer starts 'cleaning' its cartridges in the middle of the night when you are sound asleep.

I need to drink. I think I do.

Read sometime on The New Paper today.

A reader wrote in to complain that when her family together with their domestic helper came back from Malaysia and was at the Woodlands Check Point, their maid wasn't allowed access through the "Singapore" passport counter. Her point was that, when questioned about this, the immigration officer asked them to look at the signage. Her main query is why didn't the officer used his discretion and allowed their maid to clear through the same counter with them and they had to wait another 20mins for her to rejoin the queue at the foreign passport counter. She claimed that for the past 3 years, her maid was allowed to pass through the Singapore passport counter.

Well, firstly. It is pretty straight forward I guess, she is holding a work permit and not a Singapore passport holder. Rules are rules, discretion is another thing. 200 other officers might have been nice and used their discretion to let your maid through the Singapore pp counter. The #201 officer is just been following the rules and going by the book. He is not wrong, is he? Just doing his duty.

But being highly a educated Singaporean as you are, you should have no problems differentiating between the meaning of Singapore and Foreign right? Furthermore, the purpose of have Singapore passport counters is to smoothen and speed up the process of clearing the immigration for Singaporeans. By letting your domestic helper who is not a local queue with you is in fact an act of selfishness.

Next question,
How much discretion should be used when discharging official duties?

May Day Message.

Snippets of the Message

3. The US government has acted boldly to stabilise the economy. They hope growth will be back on track by the second half of this year. But there is a possibility that the financial problems will worsen, and push the US economy into deeper trouble. Then Europe and Japan would be more seriously affected, and the impact on Asia and Singapore much more severe. This is one big uncertainty that we must be prepared for.

4. Our first priority is to keep the economy competitive and growing. This means continually upgrading and diversifying the economy, to make ourselves more resilient to external shocks. We are strengthening our ties with the vibrant Asian economies, and tapping new areas of growth. Industries like tourism, construction and marine engineering continue to do well, and will buffer us from the effects of a US recession. We still expect to grow by 4-6% this year. But we must watch closely how the situation in the US unfolds, and be ready to respond if things take a turn for the worse. We have the resources and the ability to do so.

5. With continued growth this year, the labour market will remain tight. In both manufacturing and services, many vacancies are waiting to be filled. As major projects like the two Integrated Resorts come on stream, many more jobs will be created, from frontline operations to supervisory and managerial positions.

8. Besides the uncertain economic outlook, another major issue is the rising cost of living. Like other countries, Singapore is affected by higher global inflation. We cannot insulate ourselves completely from worldwide price increases. However, the policy of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to keep the Singapore dollar strong has moderated the impact of imported inflation and helped to maintain the purchasing power of workers’ salaries.

Yes, being a small and very open economy, we're pretty much a price taker in the global economy. Traditional exchange rate policies, such as those that depreciate our currency to make our exports relatively cheaper to increase the demand for it, which will in turn increase our export revenue, would not benefit Singapore as much. This is mainly because we have practically no resources besides our people and whatever production we do are imported. So with a stronger S$, we're able to curb imported inflation as what our PM has said and reduce costs of production. Furthermore, we have quite a vast storage of foreign reserves that we can use to moderate our exchange rates.

11. I hope that workers and employers will take into account these important factors in their wage settlements this year. They should aim for sustainable wage adjustments, and put increases into variable bonuses as far as possible to make our wage structure more flexible. Realistic settlements will address the concerns of workers, and yet allow companies to respond quickly to sudden changes in the economic environment.

Yes. I know the rising cost of living is a pain in the neck. My family is feeling the heat as well. However, we have to look at this issue from a broader perspective. We're at the moment experiencing a rising inflation rate due to the rising costs of fuel and food necessities. Most Singaporeans are complaining that everything is rising in cost but wages are not increasing. (I admit I do feel that way too.) However, if wages were raised in order to keep real income from decreasing, without any increase in output level, this rise in wages would probably lead to a cost push inflation and would not be beneficial to us in the long run. Variable bonus is one of the keys to this problem.

So far, I believe we are doing quite well. I agree with what PM said, we have the ability to sustain and tide through this global crisis (Maybe not so much of a crisis yet.). However, we Singaporeans must stick together and work hand in hand to make this happen.

This post is simply my reaction to reading the May Day Message, I have no association with any of the names or organisations mentioned in the above extract.

Another one down.

Another paper down. 1 more to go. =)

Even though I smoked quite a bit for the short answer questions, I think I'll do better than money and banking.

I realised I haven't been blogging about anything substantial over like many months.

Maybe, I'll comment on May Day Message in a bit.

Alright, enough of crap.

Only 2 words can describe my Money and Banking paper. Gone F*ck.

If unanticipated expansionary monetary policy can lead to the expansion of the economy, unanticipated type of questions can lead to the development of seizures.
How I wished I were more irrational, and had irrational expectations rather than rational expectations like what economists like to assume. Had I been a tad less rational, I would have done so much better.

But on hindsight, most people are as rational as me. So I guess it is still a rather level playing field.

Oh ya, I was almost on the verge of drawing a 2 by 2 matrix for the payoffs of the 4 questions, which I could choose to attempt any 2 of the 4. Because there isn't any questions that I could fully answer especially the compulsory one.

First time I felt so shitty after an Economics paper. And of course first time I threw so much smoke for an Econs paper. Not very good. =(

Oh ya, collected specs le.

Argh

I am greatly affected by the inability of lecturers and tutors who can interest me.
I feel so screwed for my next paper, Money and Banking.

I need to work on this problem next sem since I can only salvage what I can for now.

It seems like I am being self-serving again, but having capable lecturers really makes a hell load of difference.

3101

The most important module is over. The after paper feeling wasn't good.

It felt funny.

It just seems weird that, working is not going to be marked because it is ultimately a mathematical paper. I don't like it when you only want us to show you the answer.

I am uncomfortable with the fact that if 1 part of my soln is wrong, everything is wrong and no partial credits are given for working for a module of this importance.

Bah. Whatever.

If I screw up, it's my fault for being careless or not working hard enough. I shall not blame the format/structure of the paper.

I shall not be self-serving.

15/100

The feeling is GREAT when you know you can only do 15/100 marks out of a past sem paper.

And marketing grp assignment totally chui. Think I will have to SU the mod. Haha

Oh ya. Bahasa Test 2 can be collected next week. =/

444

I realised the last post was #444.

Although I'm not very superstitious aka "Pan Tang", I'd decided to add another post! (Just to give me excuse for not studying at this point in time.)

Alright, I went for my eye review at NUH yesterday. And as I'd expected, there is a slight regression of the degree. Since the shape of my cornea has changed, Dr said I have to give sometime for my brain to relearn where to focus through my eye so as to reduce the RMI(or something along that line). Then I recalled that the relearning part was actually mentioned in the Cognition section of Psy. So my 'halo' would not decrease in the near future. And since my cornea is thin I'm unable to do any 'enhancement' to the procedure.

So to prevent myself from crashing while driving at night, I'd decided to make a pair of specs. Better service was rendered by my neighbourhood optometrist than the one at NUH. Maybe because I've known him for quite some time.

So has the PRK procedure I've received from NUH Lasik Centre been a satisfying one? I cannot really say I'm very satisfied. But it definitely feels good not having to rely on my specs for minor minor things. To wake up and see clearly is something that I've not experience for almost 17 years. The day when the trauma of the operation declined, the feeling was rather orgasmic. Maybe I could be facing cognitive dissonance post-op. But still, I think my satisfaction level is >75%.

Alright, back to more differentiation and simultaneous equation solving.

MotivatE

Seriously when people are most busy with work and studies, they tend to blog more. I totally agree with Ed on this.

Maybe because while revising, it engages my brain more. And thus causes random neuron circuits to connect and thus sparks some random thoughts that I feel like blogging down. (I'm just trying to justify my randomness using my version of pseudoscience.)

Okay, just thought of the days back in army. Actually I've been thinking about army ever since enlistment till now. I've definitely experienced several gains and losses over the couple of years there serving my nation. Even though the final journey of my NS life was rather on the down side, I still believe that NS really changes a boy to a man. At least for my case, my outlook of life took a dramatic twist, for the better of course. The most important thing I've gained from my 2years 4months stint in the army is the ability to self-motivate. It has definitely served me well then and now. And I'm sure it will be the main ingredient to my delicious soup down the road.

I may no longer be in command, but what I've learnt has definitely not left me. That includes many other things, not just self-motivation.

Why this all of a sudden? Because I'm revising Emotion and Motivation for Psy.

Ms Jenny Yong

Dear Ms Jenny Yong,

You have left us to another world beyond.
Although we weren't close, but you had been a great role model to all of us.
I remembered the time when you were leaving SRJC. The farewell we'd given you.
I was there, filming together with my members of media club. I know I teared because I know I will miss you, a great principal. A strict disciplinarian you were, but still a great principal.

I hope the journey so far has been peaceful and painless.
May you find peace and serenity where ever you might be headed.

Your students will remember you for all that you've imparted to us.

I'm sure of that. =)

Yours sincerely,
Kaiwei, Xie

I have to reiterate my love for mandopop.

Despite the fact that I hum along or even sing out loud while studying. It simply makes the process more enjoyable.

Even though I might be conditioned to recall the stuff only when there is music, I dont care.

Speaking of which, I still want to sing K.

And I just realised, I didnt take out my cam to take pics on sat. How clever.

Crabs.

Had a crabb-ish dinner with Chi, Ed and Jack yesterday at Defu Lane.
Never knew the place existed until ytd. The food wasn't bad.
Despite the absence of Luke, I managed to elicit some lukism on them.
Luckily, I didn't get the crab in the face.

Went on a round island tour in Chi's swift coz we didn't know where to go. We were all very law abiding and put on the seat belts. I wonder why. Haha.
In the end, went back to school to pick ZW up and headed to Bukit Timah for dinner part 2/ supper.

Went for a little chill out session at The Yard, a bar owned by Chi's friend's folks.

It is a pity so many people out there left their common sense in their closets when they go out.

In spite of the lack of time, a little social life makes things so much easier to handle. (Cognitive Dissonance?)

Happy Birthday Chi!

Scared.

I haven't been following on any current affairs nor politics. But I happened to flipped through the Straits Times today and found out that Umno leaders are still pointing fingers at each other and forcing PM Abdullah to abdicate. I agree with the articles that probably they should just start getting back to governance, else things are going to go on a endless downward spiral. I'm no Malaysian, but I don't want to see a neighbour go haywire.

I'm scared. Very scared.

Of what?

The exams. I've never been so afraid of the exams until now. The stress level has been phenomenal this time round. And that phenomenal level just doubled after attending the final marketing tutorial. I realised I didn't know or recall almost 75% of what was being said/discussed.

Everything has been going so smoothly this sem, that I am so scared that I will yet again fail to meet my ever growing expectations.

Hopefully all that has been read, has already been stored in the LTM. And can readily be mobilisted back into the working memory so that I can use them.

9 more days to Micro.
16 days to end of Exams.
18 days to start of work.

Alright, I promised myself to stay offline. Unless to check mail.
Would MOST probably not be back until the end of exams.

Good luck to me and to all for their exams.

Anything just call/text/email me.

Edit: I believed DR Chee Soon Juan and party members came to NUS today to give out fliers/newsletters. Didn't really see him initially, but I sort of recognised his voice when he tapped my shoulder from behind while I was at the deck waiting for WL and friend. If anyone didnt manage to get hold of a copy of it and wants to read it just tell me.

Thoughts

There really exist many types of people in this world.

Those that resort of any means to get what they want.

Those that would always be taken advantage of, and those that would take advantage of the weaker/ nicer people.

So what can we do about it?

Always strive to be the big bad wolf because nice guys die first.

No Runs = Fat

It has been a while since I really went for a run. And so after coming home, I went for a good ol run.

I can only think of 1 word. And it is chui. (Even if it isn't an English word.)
Damn unfit liao la. How the hell am I suppose to run the 42 at the end of the year? Haha. Omg..
And I'm getting fatter and fatter, need to get slightly back in shape. Haha. Cham.

Running target:
Pre-exam + exam week, at least 15 - 20km per wk. Spread over 2 to 3 sessions.
Post exam = 20 to 30 per week.
Maybe train for AHM? See how.

AHM anyone?

2 more weeks. Just 2 more weeks to the start of everything.
And slightly more than 3 weeks to the end.

Chat with grandma.

Was having dinner at my grandma's house just now.

A little background info, I go over to her house for dinner almost every night because my mum doesnt cook.

So after dinner, we were talking as usual and today came an interesting topic.
She was talking about how she used to follow my great grandmother to do this and that. How she was like a little boy, chopping down trees for firewood and plucking durians off the tree by throwing stones at them. And how she catches dragonflies and tie a string at their "tail" to fly them around like "kites".

The most amusing thing I found from the conversation today was that, there was once she accidentally stepped on a ducking that my great grandma reared, and its intestines or stomach or some organs spilled out. Fearful that my great grandma would reprimand her, she stuffed the whatever that spilled out back into the poor ducking and sewed the wound back! And after that she applied some black oil (Orrr You - direct translation from hokkien) on the 'stitched' wound and miraculously the duckling survived. =/

Haha. Such innocence and cuteness.

I love my grandma!

Defence against kick to the head.

Seriously I feel like kicking my own head. The only thing that lies between me and doing it is:

1. Courage
2. Flexibility
3. The whatever sanity that is remaining

I think it is the lack of exercise that is making me nuts.
Shall go on a long long long run later.

Screw exams, I want my sanity back.

I talk to myself, am I abnormal?
- Do I experience distress, danger or disability? No, So I guess I'm not abnormal.

Sakit

Did better than I expected for money and banking, so quite happy. But i'm still damn stressed this sem.

Haven't had the best of sleep.
Something has been haunting me.

Leave me alone............ ARGH.

Zinger

I feel sad that I have to say this, but I've been craving for KFC's Zinger for the past 1/2 year and finally satisfied the craving today after bringing mum to the Nat. Skin Centre. Haha. Mum had to do a patch test to find out what are her allergies.

Went to the beach with Na on Saturday after she surprised me over at my place. Hehe.

Hadn't cycled for quite sometime and I must admit I was very chui on sat, but NZ Icecream was nice! Yummy. We just cycled down the usual path that we cycle and look around at others and the scenery. After we're done we sat down and had a little talk. A little talk that elicited the creation of many thoughts. Thoughts of the present and some slightly beyond.

Initally we planned to have dinner at our '1-Hr walk' place, but found nothing to our liking. So in the end we boarded the bus to bedok looking to end my craving for KFC, but our bus was travelling past bedok block 80-ish, and I recalled going to bedok 85 with the gang the other time before ZW left. So we headed there instead.

Sometimes, its good to be impromtu and spontaneous. Makes life more interesting and less mundane.

Accomodation brings the best out of us
Differences may linger, but they shan't interfer

In case anyone wants to try out the Western food that took over the stall of Botak Jones at Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 Blk 608, don't bother.

Why? Because it failed the taste test of my whole family.

Although the grill is just nice, the meat is quite juicy, but the bottomline is...
It's simply tasteless.

I don't even think it was marinated for more than 1 second.

Failed... And maybe I was expecting something really spectacular after waiting for almost 45mins. =/

I don't even recall the name of the place. =/

Saturday, March 29, 2008

Alright. As of now, there is less than a month to the exams.

I need to do a couple of things.

To Do
1. Settle NEFMQ website content.
2. Finish my Assignments (Micro, Money and Banking)
3. Revise on my Bahasa in preparation for the Oral exam and the final test.
4. Start studying
5. Stop Slacking

I only got 4 exams this sem, so I expect more from myself. But how can I expect more from myself when I'm doing less? =/

Saya harus belajar sekarang.
Kalau saya tidak belajar sekarang, saya akan mati!

Haha. I dont make much sense, but I'm lazy to refer to the coursepack for more vocab.

Crisis

Yet again, I'm having this feeling of being in a period of crisis.

I'm not faced with alot of deadlines, nor am I busy like shit. But I'm experiencing the mid sch crisis again! =/ It's this time of the year where I don't know what I want and where I am now.
Feeling so unaccomplished and totally undeserving of many things.

Quite tempted to watch The Bucket List. Anyone interested?

Been listening to 933 alot lately. Love the songs they play.

I want KBOX... Anyone... ?

Math

Math - You love it, you love to hate it.

Ever wondered why we had to learn Algebra?
Why must we have Xs and Ys instead of the actual thing or numbers??

Something that I actually asked myself when I was still little. Now that I'm doing economics (a bit ironic, because the math arent that chim.), I realised that many things in life can actually be simplified to an equation. Something that I never learnt when I did math though.

Now Xs and Ys are my good friends. But will everything be simply reduced to variables in my life? Hope not.

OMG. What is this dy/dx thing?
Yeap. Calculus = Differientation + Integration.

Why did we have to learn it?

Why on earth would I want to know why when
y= 2x+ 999
dy/dx = 2

This is even more useful. Rate of change. Marginal. Maximisation, Minimisation.

Enough said I guess.

If only my Little Ben would read my blog, Pls pay attention more when I teach you math, you cannot dislike math.......... especially if you want to be a rocket scientist.

Micro is over! And much better than I expected. Hopefully all those that I know/think i know how to do is correct. Haha. In that case that would be full marks!!!

Fat hope la. Haha.

Bazzar day was not as tiring as I anticipated. Practically slacking around, walking around to chuan men zi, listening to people talk and of course eating! Kind of got to know a few more people! Yay~ Poor sis had to have migraine, but she did kept me company throughout the whole day. Thanks jiemei!

Tmr is the D day for the skit/play. Had a rehearsal this morning, not that bad, except that the female lead isnt around so we had to do without them. Some minor twerks today and all that is left is the thing itself. Cant wait for it to be over. Then I will have to worry abt marketing presentation.

Okay, time to do my ppt slides for mkt.

What am i doing?

To Ed: I'll try. Haha

What am I doing?
I don't know.

What should I be doing?

My Ass

I'm in a grouchy mood.

For the sake of mankind, please change your fucking attitude.
I was expecting a at least semi professionally well done kind of report from you after you delayed for 2 weeks. But what you came out with was as what WL said, a reflection on a blogpost. 2 weeks and you give me crap that is even lousier than the crap I can fabricate in 15mins? Fuck you, understand?

Call yourself a Year 3 Econs Major. A Secondary 3 can probably do better.

Go back to the country where you came from.

Circle of Trust For the Win~ =)
Mini hell week coming up, I just realised I'll be home late every single weekday next week apart from Good Friday. Really welcomed the little craziness to kill the stress cells.

Role in LAB's play became more complex and a tad more awkward. Sian. Although I like my costume. So Gold.

P.S. Am I always so unfilial in your mind for over this half a decade? Maybe, maybe not. If I'm not sure of the situation I wouldn't have committed longer.

Moment of Anguish, Month of Negativity

I was mightily pissed off with the SMRT service yesterday. Missed a grand total of 7 trains because I cannot get in even though I tried my best to squeeze with everyone.

Inference:
During peak hours, try not to have a 10min wait for a train.
Because you will get a train worth of commuters waiting on the platform.

I realised the textbook is your best friend in Uni. With the exceptions of the rare occurrence whereby the lecturers are better friends than the textbooks, most of the time textbooks are better.

Some things always puzzle me. Why is it that for a single module when taught by different lecturers, the focus of the module seems to differ not just marginally. And that how some modules in the level 2000 range can cover 90% of whatever we've learnt in 1000, and just have about 10% new information, which some of them are just an expansion of the knowledge we learnt in the prerequisite.

2 Mid terms gone, 2 more to come. 1 Bahasa play and 1 marketing presentation round the corner. Nefmq stuffs on its way too. Some times, I wonder if schooling is so enjoyable.

But of course, I still have my desire/dreams of doing a postgrad degree (All these could change soon). So I better start regaining my correct mentality.

IT show 2008

Finally got my camera! Haha. I gave up toying with the idea of getting a DSLR when I grad. I don't think I will ever go pro when it comes to phototaking. So, I got my IXUS. There are freaking alot of people there. I'm so glad I am out of it already.

Besides that, it was a day of shoe finding, zaraing, borders-ing and grumpying! Haha.

Damn, I am hungry. at 1 am.

This post is super random. It Almost doesnt mean anything. =)

3 more midterms to go.

Beyond hope

Seriously, I never expected him to be so lazy.

Totally beyond my expectations. I think it is best if you just hand in your resignation letter before you get sacked.

Or please find a wall and knock your head on it and ask it for forgiveness. But I guess you would be even too lazy to open your mouth.

5 Years.

It's really a milestone we have achieved.

Watched PS. I love you. I found it a rather touching show, as in how the husband planned all those things in advance for his wife. So sweet.

Liquid kitchen seemed to have changed their menu for the worse... But I still like the ambience. =)

Thanks dear for being who you are for so long we have been together.

PS. I love you. =)

Brainiac

The cool thing about psychology is that it is everywhere. Something that I wasn't conscious about. This is what makes it so interesting.

How the stimuli stimulate your senses and lead to the perception of certain things and various responses in reaction to the stimuli. How it is possible to train a child to have better behavior with the aid of reinforcement and how it is possible to ring a bell to make a dog salivate.

How you can see everything, but yet only see what your brain wants you to see.

Our brain is such a sophisticated entity that allows us to make such complex mental processes at the snap of our fingers.

The only drawback is that it is damn difficult to study. Too heavy in content.

Most of the thing hardly goes beyond my STM. Hopefully the recency effect stays longer than normal.

"... it barely matters how much or how hard you try to learn something: what matters is how well you integrate and organise the material." (S.M. Kosslyn &, R.S. Rosenberg, 2006. Psychology in Context.)

Mid School Crisis.

Was talking to Edgar for a bit last night.

Hows life? He asked.

I realised I couldnt even answer that question properly. Life just feels messy.

I don't understand why either, I have a midterm schedule that everyone is envious of, I'm not entirely stressed out by my studies as well. I just cannot muster up enough of everything to do anything right.

I've thought I've found the right path, but the query of whether it is the right direction to go seems to come back to me again and again. It is getting pretty damn irritating. Perhaps, just perhaps I am starting to lose my mind as well. I cant seem to remember any single shit that I studied. STM going, LTM going. What else can go?

Maybe he is right on the mid sch crisis, on the bright side at least it gives me some prep when I enter mid life crisis. Haha

My heart goes out to Eduardo for sustaining such a horrific injury during the Birmingham - Arsenal match. He is a talented player and would be a loss to the world of football if he doesn't recover.

God bless.

The Walk Home.

The Walk Home.

It has been half a decade,
Yet it has been the first.
Never have I initiated,
Never has she requested.

Strolling under the bright moonlight,
Makes my heart feel light.
Holding her hands tight,
Makes me forget my plight.

Listening to her every word,
While walking on the path.
Slowly as we walk that night,
Two hearts joined with might.
This is a random post.

First and foremost, congrats to Singapore for winning the bid to host the Youth Olympics. Even though we only won by a small margin, the fact that a small country in SEA being given a chance is something we should be proud of. Not just as a Singaporean, but as a member of ASEAN.

Yay!

Anyway, for Bahasa Indonesia 1 (LAB1201) there are projects such as cooking, folklore play, dance, batik etc. And I had no choice but to join the Play grp because I registered a little later than the rest of the people. And now, I am casted as the Prince who will fight the Giant to save the Cucumber girl. Haha. I shall be able to flaunt my ever-so-lousy acting skills. SO looking forward to it.

Recess week is here. But I think I will either be in school for the whole week or at least 3 to 4 days. Sianz. Need to have a good time table. Main priority would be Psy test and term paper.
Busy like shit! Well, not literally, since I dont think shit is busy.

But I think I will be that in the recess week. =/

MoneySense

The meeting went quite well I guess.

Now we need to twerk the proposal by quite a bit. Hopefully it works out and we can build on to the "golden age" of ENS as what Ben likes to put it. Haha
At this point in time, throwing in the towel seems to be the best option.

There really isn't much point, really.

PS: It is not what you all think it is. Don't worry. And don't ask me about it, it will remain unsaid for now.

Lost

I hate to agree with the rest, but I do believe that it is lost.

New Year

It has been awhile since I blogged.

Chinese New Year came and now we're back to school. Actually this year, I didnt really have any New Year mood. I don't know why, but I just wasn't really looking forward to it. Of course I welcome the break that it offered and the Ang Baos that follows. But deep inside, I'm not a CNY person.

Spent the eve of CNY eve in school with ENS, we had a steamboat reunion dinner. As usual, NEFMQ isolated ourselves. Heh. Maybe because we click more la.

CNY eve was simply damn full la, always eat so much until feel like exploding. Haha.

Visiting was as per normal, except that we met my whole father's side extended family at my Ah Ma's house for the first time in many years. It has been awhile since we met them. 2nd day was rather different because I managed to borrow the car from Aunty Wendy and drove around. Having a car really makes travelling much more convenient, despite the petrol bill. Managed to clear all the destinations with Na in a relatively short time.

Yesterday was Gramp's death anniversary (Lunar one). It has been 6 years. Still remember the night before he passed away and the day itself. Some things will always remain deep inside my heart (perhaps Long term memory).

School started again! No good! Marketing report not done. Need to buck up alot on Micro, because I realised I'm damn cui, and this module is damn important for Honours year. Psy was quite interesting still.

Better go back to my mkt report =)

Vrooooom Vroooom

Not that I want to complain, but at the rate the transportation system is developing here, I probably won't buy a car. And personally I hate public transport even though at times, it is alot faster than driving (when there is a jam/peanut butter). Besides, public transportation aint all that reliable.

A Nissan Sunny would probably cost 100k by the time I graduate after factoring in inflation and COE rise - which is an attempt to reduce car growth. Owning a car is probably one of the most important material wants that I desire. A home would fall under the most important need, besides food/water. But of course, I've always wanted to purchase private property.

From the current outlook of the economy, if the HDB bubble don't burst, a condo would easily cost 1.5M.

So my views of Singapore 10yrs from now.
-High cost of living. (much higher than it is now.)
-Hike in old age dependency.
-Influx of people (since govt's aim is to have a population of 6M)
-A overly crowded orchard road. (As if it is not crowded enough.)
-A max speed of 50km/hr on the highway. (because there are simply too many vehicles.)
-Private ownership of helicopters becoming normal. (because roads too pack liao, no choice must fly)
-ERP every 5metres, so that people keep off the roads.
-I will still get pushed out of the MRT and only get to board after 2 or 3 trains come.

So my conclusion:
Emigrate to somewhere with more space!

Although I have thoughts of going elsewhere once in a while, I still love Singapore. Its my home. But the way it is changing, doesn't seem to make it as homely anymore.

Patriot no more?

Marketing

Speaking of coincidental.

First, I saw Lisa outside the class, the found out that she is also in the same tutorial class as Wenling and I. Hahaa.

Then when the rest of the people streamed in, I saw Thye Heng. I've only bumped into him once in my 2 years here, and now we're classmates. lol.

Then of course, the proj group is Me, Lisa, Wenling, Thye heng and Daniel, TH's friend.

Swee la. Haha.
